Become a lawyer doesn't require any hard and fast rules but if one doesn't have good communication skills then they cant be a lawyer.
I am a lawyer myself and what I learnt throughout my career is what I am telling below:

Main and the most important factor in any lawyer is having good communication skills. The work of a lawyer totally depends upon his/her communication power. The more you communicate the more you win.
A lawyer must be creative. Creative to act, creative to write, creative to talk, creative to behave! if you don't have creativity and want to be a lawyer? don't worry! learn it at best law coursework.
A good lawyer has the best judgmental skills. it is required because you must have to understand the psyche of the other person. It is very beneficial and important at the same time.
