Elden Ring Wiki occurs in the Lands Between following the destruction of the titular Elden Ring, the Shattering, and the dispersal of its fragments, the Great Runes. Once graced by the Ring and the Erdtree that represents its presence, the realm is now ruled by the demigod descendants of Queen Marika the Eternal, each of whom possesses a shard of the Ring that corrupts and taints them with power. As Tarnished, exiles from the Lands Between who have lost the Ring's grace and are summoned back after the Shattering, players must cross the realm in order to become the Elden Lord.
