This is true ingenuity in the poker domain. The University of Massachusetts undergraduates Jeremie Spitzer and Paul Silva have found a way through which the blind or sight impaired people can play online poker. They were motivated by a blind friend in doing so. This innovation made by these two enterprising youngsters can be checked at their sight Allin Play. Braille card decks have been made and are in circulation for a while. But these do not help in online play. The two computer science majors have tried to create an online game that the blind and the sighted can play at an equal level. They found the answer in the form of a screen reader software that speaks out aloud, that which is on screen. Online-casinos.com reports:
Extensive field research and beta testing completed, the innovation was launched in 2002 with Crazy Eights followed by Five Card Draw Poker. Now the duo is moving on to the most popular game of them all - Texas Hold'em, which is being beta tested and evaluated by volunteers and will soon be rolled out on their site.
