Amazon Web Services has announced the general availability of AWS Local Zones in Dallas and Philadelphia to serve the growing edge connectivity market.
AWS Local Zones are a type of AWS infrastructure deployment that places AWS compute, storage, database, and other services closer to large populations, industries, and IT centers - where no larger AWS Region infrastructure currently exists.
“Customers can now use these new AWS Local Zones to deliver applications that require single-digit millisecond latency to end-users or on-premise installations in the Dallas and Philadelphia metro areas,” said the company.
